Custom couple portrait
A couple's photo isn't valuable for its technical quality. It's valuable because it was taken that day, in that light, with those expressions you both had.
What we aim to preserve
In a couple's portrait, the relationship is revealed in the details: a hand placed on a shoulder, a gaze directed at the other rather than the camera, a distance between faces. These are the elements we preserve, even when the chosen style deviates from realism.
When to offer it
The most common occasions among our clients:
- An anniversary of meeting or marriage
- A wedding — often given a few weeks later, when the official photos arrive
- Moving in together
- Valentine's Day, provided you anticipate the creation time
- A first year of living together
- A reconciliation, a birth, a return after a long separation
In all cases, check the actual delivery times before ordering for a specific date. A custom portrait is not an in-stock item: there's the creation, your approval, then printing and shipping.
The photo to choose
Opt for an image where both faces are clear and close to each other. Photos taken from afar, or those where one person is facing away or in shadow, yield less convincing results. The photo guide details tricky cases.
